The Hua Hin Food Festival 2015, organised in honour of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s 88th Birthday Anniversary this year, is set to be held from 28th-30th August. The event will highlight a wide variety of local food and international delicacies cooked by professional chefs from participating hotels and restaurants in Hua Hin and Cha-am. Visitors will get the chance to taste a very special menu created for this event – the 88 pans of hot and spicy fried rice with fresh seafood.

hua hin food festival 2015Throughout three-day, the event will showcase professional skills from talented kitchen staff in a series of competition, including ice carving, vegetable and fruit carving, and cooking. There are also free evening mini concerts by Thai leading singers. The event  is organised by Hua Hin local authorities in cooperation with Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Authority, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Prachuap Khiri Khan Office, and the Chef Association of Cha-am – Hua Hin.

Hua Hin’s Queen Sirikit Park 19 Rai is situated on Petchkasem Road, a little further north of Hua Hin beach, after Klai Kangwon Palace. It is an ideal venue for a long walk on the beach.

They have also made the presentation of each ecosystem match the environment of the original habitat.

Outside they have created several life size exhibits that relate to astrology, prehistoric life, with full scale dinosaurs and you can also find real asteroids within the park. The aquarium is a part of the King Mongkut Memorial Park of Science and Technology at Waghor. Its objective is to become a learning centre for scientific marine ecology and the environment for students, the general public and tourists. Eco tours offer visitors a fascinating glimpse into aquatic ecosystems, including river, brackish water and the ocean.

The Waghor Aquarium received a budget of 162,230,000 baht for construction in 1999-2001 and was completed in March 2002. Further budget was granted for interior design and exhibitions, which began in August 2003 and was finished in October 2004.

cha am international kite festival 2015Cha Am Kite Festival 2015Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in cooperation with Phetchaburi province, Naresuan Camp, The Rama VI Camp (or Phra Ram VI Camp) the Thai Sports World under Royal Patronage, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, Thailand Kite Fliers Association. With each subsequent year, the Thailand International Kite Festival attracts an ever-growing number of devoted kite fans, participants and spectators, from all over Thailand as well as from countries around the region, and beyond. The colourful kite festival thus presents a golden opportunity for visitors to savour the international flavour of kite culture in a single trip. As well as kite events there will also be a parachute show, a radio controlled airplane show and competition. As with any Thai festival there will be plenty of food and handicraft booths everywhere to keep you occupied as well. This annual event is really one not to be missed and definitely one of the more colorful events of the year.

Hua Hin Municipality Prepares for Thai National Children’s Day 2015
Hua Hin Municipality is celebrating the Thai National Children’s Day of 2014 on 10th of January 2013 from 4 p.m. onwards at 19 Rai Queen Sirikit Memorial Park. In the past His Majesty the King has said that, “Everybody has his own responsibilities. Children’s major responsibilities include learning and studying; that is, they have to know and understand what they are taught and learn how to work for their future career. At the same time, children need to behave well, be mindful and think reasonably so as to grow up and become resourceful people for the country.” In other words, children are important human resources of the country because national advancement and security lie in their hands. However, children have to be inquisitive and diligent with self-discipline.

They have to spend time wisely and creatively while helping others with compassion and volunteerism if there is any chance. The more good and dedicated children a country has, the better the results. To raise awareness among Thai children and youths on self-importance and morality and allow them to enjoy themselves with their peers and parents, the Hua Hin Municipality will organise the Thai National Children’s Day festival with the motto of ‘Maintain SelfDiscipline, Seeking Knowledge, Enhance Wisdom and Prepare Thailand towards ASEAN Community’.

Activities at the festival include fun games and lucky draws for several prizes. Apart from stage performances by children in Hua Hin, young participants will enjoy free food and drinks, too.
