Happy New Year in Hua Hin Festival

On 31 December from 6 p.m. around Queen’s Park Happy New Year in Hau Hin Fastival Hua Hin residents gather every year for the New Year celebrations. Hua Hin Municipality organize the Countdown Festival to welcome New Year.

Local officials provide about thousand tables & chair for the public. About one hundred food stalls set up to sell sea food (king crab, prawns, cuttlefish, white bass), steaks, padthai (fried noodle in Thai style) and Somtam (Thai salad made of sliced green papaya).

On the stage there performances of well known music bands from Bangkok. In between of the performance there quizes.

At midnight Lord Mayor wishes everybody Happy New Year. On the stage nine monks pray and wish Happy New Year to people and bless them with holly water. Then people shout many times ‘long live the King’. The New Year celebrations continue for several more hours.

 Hua Hin Thai Cultural Association Festival is organized annually since 2004 at the Pone King Phet public park in Hua Hin. The aim of the festival is to preserve Thai culture and customs.

During the Hua Hin Thai Cultural Association Festival students from local Universities and schools perform traditional Thai dances and play music. performance after which there was Thai dresses fashion show.

Hua Hin Thai Cultural Association is lead by President and two Vice Presidents. There are currently thirty members.

Hua Hin Cultural Association runs many projects. The Association assists people with getting qualifications which help them find a job or try find market for producers of goods produced locally. Hua Hin Cultural Association does not have budget at the moment to run the projects and needs to apply for funds to the provincial association.

          Do not miss out on the Hua Hin Street Dog Lovers’ Carnival 3-4 May (Saturday & Sunday) 2014:  For the first time ever in Hua Hin a group of dedicated Dog Lovers have created a two day Dog Lover’s Festival in the month of May. The Festival is for all ages and will be jam packed with activities and things to buy for Hua Hin’s residents and guests.

         Sunday 4th of May: 12 pm- 5pm Dog Adoption Drive

          The famous Asian beach polo championship will be back in Hua Hin , where players from three countries will compete for a trophy from HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha.

          The fifth “Asian Beach Polo Championship InterContinental-B. Grimm 2014” will feature four teams — two from Thailand, one from Malaysia and one from France. It will take place on the beachfront of the InterContinental Hua Hin Resort on April 19 at 2pm.

          The event will raise funds for the Kamlangjai Project initiated by the princess to provide support to help rehabilitate female prisoners after their release.

          Prior to the polo tournament,spectators will enjoy many activities starting from noon. They include a beach-themed fashion show on horseback, a local horse race, a kids’ polo match, games with fabulous prizes and luxurious shopping.

          The day will conclude with a dinner party and charity auction from 6-9pm, held under the theme “Hua Hin Sweet Old Day”.

          Tickets cost 1,000 baht for a day pass, or 1,500 baht including the dinner party.

         “The Cha-am Summer Fun Fest 2014 is being organised to showcase how Cha-am is more than ready to welcome local and international tourists with a range of international standard accommodation and restaurants, as well as a variety of natural, historical and cultural attractions in the town and surrounding area. There are a lot of fun activities on offer to suit all tourist groups, from those travelling with families and groups of friends to young couples seeking a romantic getaway.”

        The festival will feature concerts by leading Thai artists and hip hop bands, including Joey Boy, Zero Hero, Abuse the Youth, and Hipster. In addition, there will be a fashion show featuring well-known Japanese models as well as a dancing performance by the Cyber Japanese Dancer, and many other enjoyable stage entertainments.

        Organised by TAT in cooperation with Phetchaburi Provincial Administration, Cha-am Municipal Office and hotels in Phetchaburi, the Cha-am Summer Fun Fest 2014 will take place on 5 April, 2014, from 17.00-24.00 hrs. Admission is free to everyone.

         TAT is also joining forces with local tourism operators in Phetchaburi to offer special tour packages to coincide with this festival. The tours are available for both independent tourists travelling with their own transport as well as anyone wanting to join group tours in coaches and mini-buses.

          These packages include visits to Phetchaburi’s major attractions; such as, the Maruekhathaiyawan Palace, Phra Nakhon Khiri Historical Park, Phra Ram Ratchaniwet (Ban Puen Palace), the Swiss Sheep Farm, as well as simple beach fun until the festival starts up at 17.00 hrs.
