Organized by Addiction Studies of ASEAN Institute for Health Development (AIHD) in collaboration with Drug and Alcohol Rehab Asia (DARA), OMICS Group, Mahidol University, Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), and Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB), the Addiction Studies Department is going to conduct a five-day conference on the 1st ASEAN Conference on Addiction Research & Therapy (AC-ART 2015) under the theme: “Biopsychosocial Perspective on Addiction Research and Therapy during May 5-9, 2015 at Dusit Thani Hua-Hin, Thailand to bring together a large International experts belonging to various field of addiction research & therapy, leading universities, government organizations and rehabilitation centers at the same stage, and to provide a perfect platform for leading scientists, budding researchers, decision-makers and other key players in the field of addiction research & therapy for information exchange, generation of new ideas and acceleration of applications that will benefit Addiction research society in the coming future.

With each subsequent year, the Thailand International Kite Festival attracts an ever-growing number of devoted kite fans, participants and spectators, from all over Thailand as well as from countries around the region, and beyond. The colourful kite festival thus presents a golden opportunity for visitors to savour the international flavour of kite culture in a single trip. As well as kite events there will also be a parachute show, a radio controlled airplane show and competition. As with any Thai festival there will be plenty of food and handicraft booths everywhere to keep you occupied as well. The BMW Golf Cup International held its National Final 2014 on Friday 21st November in Hua Hin. This was followed by a dinner reception at the Sheraton Hua Hin Resort & Spa to celebrate the victory of 3 players who now have the honour of representing Thailand in the BMW World Final in Australia in March 2015. Sitthirat Hothongkam, Hotel Manager (1st from the left) and Andreas Schimanski, Director of Food & Beverage (1st from the right) welcomed 126 finalists and invited guests of BMW dealers. Organised by Matthias Pfalz, President of BMW Group Thailand (2nd from the right), real BMW hospitality was offered, together with the Sheraton experience in an exclusive dinner reception with a variety of welcome drinks, canapés and seafood for the slightly more exotic of palates. All the participants wanted for nothing at any stage and were flanked by striking new BMW models.

Hua Hin Municipality Prepares for Thai National Children’s Day 2015
Hua Hin Municipality is celebrating the Thai National Children’s Day of 2014 on 10th of January 2013 from 4 p.m. onwards at 19 Rai Queen Sirikit Memorial Park. In the past His Majesty the King has said that, “Everybody has his own responsibilities. Children’s major responsibilities include learning and studying; that is, they have to know and understand what they are taught and learn how to work for their future career. At the same time, children need to behave well, be mindful and think reasonably so as to grow up and become resourceful people for the country.” In other words, children are important human resources of the country because national advancement and security lie in their hands. However, children have to be inquisitive and diligent with self-discipline.

They have to spend time wisely and creatively while helping others with compassion and volunteerism if there is any chance. The more good and dedicated children a country has, the better the results. To raise awareness among Thai children and youths on self-importance and morality and allow them to enjoy themselves with their peers and parents, the Hua Hin Municipality will organise the Thai National Children’s Day festival with the motto of ‘Maintain SelfDiscipline, Seeking Knowledge, Enhance Wisdom and Prepare Thailand towards ASEAN Community’.

Activities at the festival include fun games and lucky draws for several prizes. Apart from stage performances by children in Hua Hin, young participants will enjoy free food and drinks, too. Asian Tour Q School 2015 - Hua Hin Golf

Kuala Lumpur, October 14:

The Asian Tour’s 2015 Qualifying School will be held in Thailand over a three-week run in January.

The Qualifying School, sponsored by the Sports Authority of Thailand, will be held over two stages – the First and Final Stage – where the top-40 finishers and ties will earn playing rights on the region’s premier Tour in 2015.

The First Stage will be held over two sections, with Section A to be staged at the Imperial Lakeview Golf Club in Hua Hin and Singha Park Khon Kaen Golf Club in Khon Kaen from January 7 to 10, 2015.

Section B will be held at the Imperial Lakeview and Springfield Royal Country Club in Hua Hin from January 14 to 17.

The Imperial Lakeview and Springfield Royal will then host the all-important Final Stage from January 21to 24 where players will fight for top-40 finishes.

Players who compete in the 2015 Qualifying School will also be eligible to play on the Asian Development Tour (ADT), which is the pathway to the Asian Tour.

Over the years, the Asian Tour has regularly offered in excess of US$40 million in total prize money while the ADT has also grown into a 21-event Schedule in its fifth season this year.

The Asian Tour recently announced new and exciting tournaments in Dubai, Mauritius and Malaysia which will significantly add to the 2015 Schedule.

The ADT also offers Official World Golf Ranking points, which is regarded as a huge boost for the development of the game in Asia and also for Asian players fighting to qualify for the Olympic Games in 2016.

Hua Hin New Year CelebrationsOn 31 December from 6 p.m. around Queens Park Hua Hin residents gather every year for the New Year celebrations. Hua Hin Municipality organize the Countdown Festival to welcome New Year. Local officials provide about thousand tables and chair for the public. About one hundred food stalls set up to sell sea food, steaks, padthai and Somtam. On the stage there performances of well known music bands from Bangkok. At midnight Lord Mayor wishes everybody Happy New Year. On the stage nine monks pray and wish Happy New Year to people and bless them with holly water.
