       Hua Hin Sam Phan Nam Floating Market is the biggest floating, covering an area of over 100 rai (16 hectares).  The market’s architectural features take their inspiration from several historical sites in Hua Hin that were either built or renovated during the reign of King Rama VI (1910-1925), including the Mrigadayavan Palace and Hua Hin Railway Station.

       On Sam Phan Nam Floating Market, you will find 193 shops of all different kinds and 40 shops actually on the boats, selling local food, hand made products and souvenirs.

       You can stroll through the heart of the floating market on foot, by boat or even a take a pedalo. Alternatively, you also have the opportunity to tour the floating market on a miniature railway.

       Sam Phan Hua Hin Floating Market has over a 1,000 parking spaces, so there is no need to worry about parking!

Pala-U waterfalls

       Pala-U waterfalls is about 60km west of Hua Hin, towards the mountain ridge that forms a natural border with Burma. This popular waterfall has 16 levels, water flows throughout the year. The multi-tiered waterfall is spectacular, especially in the rainy season. It is set in unspoilt rainforest that’s teeming with birds, butterflies and all kinds of other wildlife. The third level offers a refreshing swimming hole after the short jungle trek.

       One of the most beautiful waterfalls, not only in Hua Hin District, but also in Prachuab Khirikhan Province, Pala-U is located in Kaeng Krachan National Park. Only sixty-three kilometers from the city, you will enjoy the journey as much as the destination. A comfortable journey through the Thai countryside is always an experience.

       The Tourist Service Centre of Pala-U Waterfall recorded that the number of visitors of Pala-U in each year is close to 100,000 people.

How to get there Pala-U waterfalls is located in Amphur Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, in the southern part of the national park. Only 60 kilometers from the Hua Hin city.

Hua Hin Artist Village (Baan Sillapin Hua Hin)

        Baan Sillapin Artists Village is Hua Hin’s original arts centre, opened in 1998 on a 10-rai (approx. 4 acres or 1.6 hectare) site in the hills just to the West of central Hua Hin. It is the base for the Hua Hin Artists Group, and the residence of Hua Hin’s most famous artist, Tawee Kesa-ngam and other artists who are also members of his family.

       Baan Sillapin includes large galleries of arts and antiques, artist studios, a coffee and gift shop, and classrooms for their very-popular classes in painting and sculpture. The facility is a frequent host of special exhibitions and performance events.

The landscaping , setting, and architecture at Baan Sillapin are truly lovely, and it is one of the nicest places to while away some time in the afternoon.

How to get there
       Located on the “Pala-U” road (route 3218) approximately 4 kilometers from the center of Hua Hin.

Khao Tao In Hua Hin

         Khao Tao is a charming village best known for a wonderful secluded beach. At the top of Khao Tao has a large temple call “Wat Tham Khao Tao”. The temple has a cave with Buddha images and more images are being raised right along the shoreline. Overlooking the village with it’s many fishing boats there are various Buddha statues, as well as others devoted to famous monks, Kannon, not to mention.

           Khao Tao has a beautiful, secluded little bay. It is a deserted beach and delightful seaside restaurants make it a great venue for a day out of town where you can relax with good local food and a swim in the ocean.

How to get there
          Just 13 kms. south of Hua Hin and the hill can be reached by road, the main Petch Ka Sem Road passing by it and a small country road leading directly to the village of Khao Tao at the foot of the hill.

           Plearnwan is a theme of unique Thai Style wooden buildings featuring shopping here you will find a two-storey courtyard-style building with an architectural statement in itself. You can stroll through and find shops selling everything from liquor, inexpensive plastic-and-tin toys, snacks as well as a beauty salon, photo studio, outdoor cinema screen and a 20-room guesthouse or ‘Piman Plern Wan’.

          Food is the main highlight at Plearn Wan. But other than the usual pad thai or grilled meat skewers, you will find a good mix of old and new. Hard-to-find snacks, such as ‘tong muan sod’ (sweetened pancake) and ‘ka lor jee’ (similar to Japanese mochi), are cooked up by order at one of the hawker carts lining the walkway along with typical fare such as noodles and barbecued pork over rice. And if you are a fan of Thai sweets, you will find a myriad of mouthwatering recipes here, from mango sticky rice to grass jelly with shaved ice and preserved fruits in sweetened syrup. Besides hopping from one food cart to the next, shopping is another favourite pastime for visitors to Plern Wan.

How to get there
By Car :
– Drive along Highway No. 35 (Thon Buri-Pak Tho) passing Samut Sakhon and Samut Songkhram Provinces and then take Highway No. 4 to Hua Hin. Total distance is 123 kilometers. It takes 2.30 hrs.
– Alternatively, it is possible to travel via Nakhon Pathom and Ratchaburi Provinces, a journey which takes 3 hrs.

By Bus :
Busses from Bangkok’s Southern Bus Terminal; 1st class (air-conditioned), 2nd class (air-conditioned) and (ordinary). The trip takes about 3 1/2 to 4 hours.

The bus leaves for Bangkok from a station next to Siripetchkasem Hotel. In addition, there are air-conditioned buses for Chumpon Province (4 hours), Surat Thani Province (7hours), Phuket Province (10 hours) and Krabi Province (9 hours)

By Van :
Various agencies on Khao San Road and Victory Monument in Bangkok operate minivans to Hua Hin.

By Train :
From Hua-Lum-Pong station, there are many trains to Hua Hin, Pranburi and Prachuap Khiri Kan. The trip takes about 3-3/4 hours from Bangkok.

Local buses / Song-Thaews :
From Hua Hin to the Hat (beach) of Khao Takiap, Khao Tam and Suan Son. These buses run from around 6 am. until 5.50 pm.

         Hua Hin Elephant Village have has 18 elephants, is located 3km west of Hua Hin. You can enjoy with ride an elephant, look baby elephant show and buy bunches of bananas to feed elephants.

         You can watch the elephants taking their daily bath in the stream before beginning to demonstrate logging techniques used in the jungle. You will be surprised by their strength and clever team work.

         Then you can climb on board the back of an elephant and ride through the jungle to visit a nearby village. This elephant ride takes about 1 hour for round trip. You can get shorter or longer trip if you want. This is an unforgettable elephant ride. After the elephant ride you may have your lunch at the camp.

How to get there
Khao Takiab, or Takiab Beach is just a few kms from the centre of Hua Hin. You can simply walk south on the beach or from city centre, you go south past the Hua Hin Marriott Resort, about 1 km the road leads to Khao Takiab and you pass the truly world famous Chiva Som Health Resort and Spa. Keep to the left before the bridge and you are in the Khao Takiab area. Continue travelling to the south and the road will lead you to the Khao Takiab enterence.

        Phraya Nakhon Cave (Tham Phraya Nakhon)

         Tham Phraya Nakhon Cave can be reached on foot from Laem Sala beach inside the park. The rather steep and rocky ascent up the side of the mountain (about 430 meters long) provides spectacular sea views and takes about 30 minutes.

        Tham Phraya Nakhon is actually two sinkholes whose roof has fallen in, letting in sunlight. In the middle of the cave is a Thai-style pavilion built for a visit by King Rama V in 1896. The cave was named for Phraya Nakhon, ruler of the city-state of Nakhon Si Thammarat, who inadvertently discovered it over 200 years ago when a gale forced his ship ashore.

How to get there
Phraya Nakhon Cave can be reached from Laem Sala Beach, by a steep rocky trail, 430 m. long and rising to a height of 130m., taking about 30 minute to climb. Caution should be used and proper footwear worn as the rock is sharp and can be slippery.

         La Paillote Overview : Is a French and Thai restaurant. It is open seven days a week from 7:30 am until very late in the evening. Gaston and his team are pleased to welcome you to the “LA PAILLOTE” romantic outdoor terrace or our well ventilated dining room.
The La Paillote French expertise is a “sun oriented” style of French cuisine. The extensive French culinary experience of our professional team gives us the opportunity to serve you the best french food as well as Thai dishes with a French flare, or the more traditional Thai dishes, happily adjusted to your taste.
Our tranquil atmosphere and exquisite food does not mean expensive pricing. Our desire is to provide outstanding food and drinks at a very reasonable price. For example we offer a menu with 3 courses with a nice choice at 490 Baht only (+/- 10 €) !
In addition, if you make your reservation at least 24 hours in advance, the “LA PAILLOTE” team will manage and give you a nice surprise which is only known by Gaston himself !
